Kingston, On: The Kingston Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce that Chris Whyman has joined the organization.
â€œFor some time, Chris has been the official tourism ambassador for the cityâ€ said Jeff Garrah, KEDCOâ€™s General Manager. â€œI am pleased he has joined our team and will manage Visitor Services for our organization.â€
For the last 23 years, Chris has traveled the world as Kingstonâ€™s Town Crier, using his distinctive voice to promote the many virtues of the Limestone City. He has participated in hundreds of competitions and festivals, acquiring many distinguished awards and titles for his crying abilities. He received the 2004 World Town Crier Tournamentâ€™s Championship Award, and the Best Dressed Criers Award.
Chris recently led a delegation to Detroit, Michigan, proclaiming Kingstonâ€™s many tourism advantages. His powerful pipes have helped put Kingston on the map, both nationally and internationally.
Chris will be based out of the Tourism Information Office. Located in the historic railway station across from Kingston City Hall, the TIO provides information on accommodations, attractions, culture and retail to visitors to the city of Kingston.
